About Me

I love teaching high school students math and life skills. I believe EVERYONE can learn and do math. You may not have my thought process, but your way is just as valuable, so teach me and explain to me how you did it!!

My road to teaching was slightly off track! I have my BA in Business Administration from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. I began coaching competitive soccer and loved it. After a little bit of time, I decided to get my teaching credential in Mathematics in 2006 from Concordia University in Irvine, California. While I enjoy math, I really just love working with high school students. There is so much more students learn in school than just the content.  BUT.... if I can make that content (math) interesting and enjoyable, that's a bonus! In 2010, I earned my Master's from Concordia in Coaching and Athletic Administration.

I'm highly organized. Almost too organized is how some of my students would describe me. But I wear many different hats at my school, and I must keep them organized so I don't go crazy. I teach math and AVID, I'm a BTSA Support Provider, Math Department Chair, AVID Coordinator, Advisor to the AVID Leadership Club and Tennis Club, and previously coached soccer!  Someday, I'll combine my passion for kids, sports, and administration into one!

My remaining time and energy goes to my amazing husband, wonderful miracle daughter (and daughter on the way!), and our 3 2 crazy animals.
